A Little History

Jeffrey Hardy, president of FilmProfit, LLC, is the co-author of FilmProfit software and the sole author of The FilmProfit Guide To Film Distribution Deals, a respected primer to the deals in the key film distribution markets.

Mr. Hardy has acted as an expert resource for Hollywood Reporter, Fortune Magazine, The Philadelphia Enquirer, The Washington Times and The Black Film Report, among other publications. FilmProfit contributed to The Independent Film and Videomaker’s Guide (2nd ed.) and to the Independent Filmmaker’s Guide to Writing a Business Plan for Investors (1st ed. and 2nd ed.).

He has presented multiple all-day workshops for the Institute for Independent Film Finance and lectured by invitation to Media and Entertainment MBA students at The University of California Berkeley, he was the moderator and an organizer for the inaugural NW Film Financing Workshop and has lectured on the East and West coasts for the Independent Feature Project. He has appeared by invitation before the California Film Commission, National Media Network, Creative Financing Conference, The Boston Film and Video Foundation, Black Hollywood Film Festival, and other organizations as a lecturer and panelist on creative and business issues for independent films.
